Mondays aren’t always everyone’s day, but for North Creek High Schools boys basketball team, it was. The team narrowly defeated the Redmond Mustangs 47-45. The first half of play from North Creek was a struggle, with Silas Woodward as the offensive focal point. The team struggled offensively, missing layups and not making easy shots. Heading into the season we expected it to be a high-scoring team with a roster loaded with players who could reliably score from past the arc. In the first half, the team made two three-point field goals, which were fewer attempts than expected.

Defensively the team hasn’t done badly, having scored 29 points in the first half while pulling the win in the second.  The team started the second half down six points, although the defense improved and the team brought down the number of defensive fouls which allowed the team to create a higher percentage of offensive shots. In the second half, the Redmond Mustangs drew fouls which got them into some trouble in the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter was back and forth between teams with both going on some exciting runs. In the end, North Creek won by not letting in a late-game bucket when the Mustangs had the ball with 14 seconds left down only 2.

The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth between the two teams, both having some exciting runs. With only fourteen seconds left and down two, North Creek won by not allowing the Redmond Mustangs a late-game score.
