After four years filled with challenges and memorable moments, the class of 2025 has finally graduated.
On June 12th, the seniors officially graduated at Pop Keeney Stadium in Bothell. The senior class size that graduated was around four hundred seniors. North Creek High School is very formal during their graduation ceremonies, so no noise makers or decorating of the caps were allowed, but some people brought noise makers anyway.
Two staff members, McDowell and Knox, and two students, Olivia Armstrong and Tarun Naveen representing the senior class of 2025 had a speech. Most of the speeches were about how they’re proud to be part of the graduating class, the impact the seniors have left on them throughout their time in high school, how they’re going to achieve much in life, and stories about some of the seniors like how it felt like just yesterday that they were in school and having conversations with the staff members.
At the graduation, Dr. Eric McDowell also congratulated and recognized students that were the top of their class or graduated with honors. The graduation program had all the graduating students’ names, some names had symbols next to them to represent the awards they earned. There was also a band and choir that sang the star spangled banner and “The Call”.
The seniors’ names were announced by staff members Alex Crane and Mark Isakson. Before they walked on the stage, pictures were taken of them by a third party agency called GradImages, which will be emailed to families in 7-10 days after graduation.
To end the ceremony, the seniors turned the tassel on their caps, and threw their caps in the air to celebrate finally finishing one part of their lives. The graduating class had similar emotions about ending high school and going to college. “I feel like I accomplished something I’ve been working on my whole life. I’m excited to go to college, but also nervous” graduating senior Lily Jen said. “I’m just glad that I’m done with high school,” said Jasmine Huynh.
