Both the girls and boys basketball teams here at North Creek have had a phenomenal season so far. For the first time ever in North Creek history the boys team will be heading to the Kingco 4A championship. They will be facing Mount Si at Bellevue high school at 7:00pm. On the girls team they will be playing Arlington on Saturday at 5:00pm to keep advancing in the playoffs. Throughout the season there have been key players that have stood out in helping their team get so far.
On the boys team Cris Bonicillo made the All 4A Kingco Crest 1st team. He averaged 20.1 points per game, with 2.5 assists and 1.7 steals through 21 games. He is 10th in the state for field goals made and overall 18th in the state for points per game. However, Bonicillo is not the only one who stood out on the team, Carter Cohen also had a very impressive season. Cohen was named most valuable player in All 4A Kingco Crest. Cohen had 19.7 points, with 9.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game on average through 21 games total. With Cohen placing 5th in the state for double doubles and 14th in rebounds it was definitely clear why he was one of the most valuable players.
Although the boys have impressive players on the team the girls have returned the same effort. Seirat Bhullar was definitely a star this season. She was named 1st team in the Kingco Mountain division. Bhullar was a team player this year putting up impressive stats in almost every game. Bhullar averaged 14.8 points a game which worked her way to becoming the second player in school history to reach 1000 points. Bhullar was not the only one who contributed impressive efforts this season. Jocelyn Tamayo made the 2nd team in the Kingco Mountain division. Tamayo averaged 11.4 points per game and had a 1.4 assist average per game as well.
Congrats to everyone who made the 4A Kingco teams and best of luck for the next couple games!
