A giant cage appears from the ceiling of the arena. The screens on the cage are flickering as fog fills up the room. Suddenly appearing from the top of the cage is Billie Eilish. Giant screens hanging from the ceiling turn on, her ocean-colored eyes showing across all of them. The lights suddenly turn from white to blue as she opens up with her song “CHIHIRO”
Billie Eilish is on tour right now for her latest album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT (HMHAS). Eilish has 83 shows, touring 44 different places. The HMHAS tour will end on July 27, 2025.
During the show, Eilish interacts with fans and occasionally tells little stories during her concerts. Her concerts are great to go to, even if you have nosebleed seats just because of the overall atmosphere. Each show has a theme that fans can dress up as. For Seattle shows, the first theme was Billie’s iconic outfits and the second one was “L’AMOUR DE MA VIE”. Eilish walks around the barrier and meets fans. At the end of her last song, “BIRDS OF A FEATHER”, confetti falls down from the ceiling in the shape of Blohshs, her logo.
Billie Eilish’s setlist always starts with “CHIHIRO” and ends with “BIRDS OF A FEATHER”. She sings all of the songs from her HMHAS album, but some of them are just short transitions like her song “BITTERSUITE”.
Every once in a while she changes one song for different shows. Her first show in Quebec, she sang “Male Fantasy”, but in the Seattle night one show, she replaced it with “Your Power”, and then switched “Your Power” to “My Future” during night two. Her concerts also open up with an opening act depending on the show. For Seattle, the opening act were The MarÍas. Other shows have Nat & Alex Wolf, Towa Bird, Ashnikko, or FINNEAS.
Billie doesn’t just play songs from HMHAS, she also sings songs from her EP and other albums (dont smile at me, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?, and Happier Than Ever). The songs she performed from dont smile at me were “idontwannabeyouanymore” and “ocean eyes”. From WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?, the songs were “bad guy”, “bury a friend”, “ilomilo”, and “when the party’s over”. Songs from Happier Than Ever were “NDA”, “Therefore I Am”, “Your Power”, “Oxytocin”, and “Happier Than Ever”. Billie also sang some singles like “Guess”, “everything i wanted”, “lovely”, “What Was I Made For?”, and her song “TV” from Guitar Songs.
The ticket prices for her shows are expensive and can run for several hundred dollars per ticket. The merchandise at all of her shows are also pricey, but it’s limited exclusive merch just for the tour, and aren’t sold online unless you buy from resellers. The merch stands and trucks have t-shirts ($50), long sleeve shirts ($60), a jersey ($100), zip-up hoodies ($125), and accessories like a baseball hat ($30), belt ($30), necklace ($80), and cloth poster ($40)– not including tax. All of the sizing for the apparel is also off. The zip-up hoodies run small, so sizing up is recommended. For the price, the materials of the merchandise do feel high quality. The zip-up hoodies are really thick and all of her merch is sustainable and eco-friendly.
At every Billie Eilish show, they also have a Reverb stand in the main concourse, where you can donate non-perishable goods like canned beans, corn, and dry pasta. At the Reverb stands, if you donate $20, you receive a HMHAS blue water bottle. The stand also provides a free water refill station and free shuttle transportation to the arena (shuttles are only for LA and Arizona).
Overall, the HIT ME HARD AND SOFT TOUR is a 4.8/5, but only because of the expensive prices. The concert is definitely worth the money though and has a lively environment. It’s a great once-in-a-lifetime experience.
