The North Creek girls varsity basketball team currently has a record of (4-3). With at least 14 games left in the season, the girls are trying to figure out what it takes to get better.
“Our team chemistry this season has been great, we’ve started to play like a team more and it’s paying off,” said Grace Pinder. Recently the girls’ chemistry has been showing in their game, with two consecutive wins against Marysville – Pilchuck and Sammamish now looking for a third against Marysville Getchell.
Although the girls have been doing well as of lately, there are still struggles in this season. “We have struggled with our shooting a little bit this year, personally I think it’s still the beginning of season rust, but we’re improving with every game”, said Pinder.
However certain girls have been able to overcome the struggles of this season and have stepped up for the team. “Madison Mcgill has stepped up with some clutch offense as well as Jocelyn Tamayo” said Pinder. Defense also hasn’t gone unnoticed, “Olivia Armstrong and Seirat Bhullar also have been playing killer defense for us” said Pinder.
As the girls continue throughout their season different goals are set for every game. Nevertheless the girls have one ultimate goal for the season. “Our biggest goal for this season is to continue to play as a team and get better at our defense”, said Pinder.
